Mel G. Brekhus
President and Chief Executive Officer

On June 1, 2004, Mel G. Brekhus was promoted to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of TXI. Formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cement, Aggregates and Concrete (CAC), Mel has 32 years of experience in construction materials. He began his career with TXI in 1989 as Vice President, Cement Production. Born in North Dakota and raised in Montana, Mel earned his bachelor's degree in engineering science from Montana Tech, University of Montana, in 1972.
Mel is on the Board of Directors of the Portland Cement Association (PCA), an organization he chaired from 2001 to 2002.

Kenneth R. Allen
Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Allen joined TXI in 1985. Effective August 1, 2008, Ken became Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He has served as Director of Investor Relations since 1991. Ken has a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a B.A. degree from the University of Arkansas.
Ken is a member of National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).

Frederick G. Anderson
Vice President and Secretary

Mr. Anderson has over twenty years of legal experience as a partner with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld and as a General Counsel with both New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ companies.
Fred holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors and a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas.

Barry M. Bone
Vice President, Real Estate

Mr. Bone has been Vice President Real Estate since 1995. Barry has been employed by Texas Industries since December 1982 where he has served in a variety of positions that maximize the value of the company's real estate.

William (Bill) J. Durbin
Vice President, Human Resources

Mr. Durbin joined the Company as Vice President, Human Resources in March 2000. Prior to joining TXI, Bill was Vice President, Human Resources and Administration for US Industries - Bath and Plumbing Products, Vice President, Human Resources for Zurn Industries and Vice President, Human Resources for Amcast Industrial Corporation. He began his career with Carrier Corporation after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

J. Lynn Davis
Vice President - Cement

Mr. Davis began his career with TXI in 1971 and held various management positions until December 1996 when he was promoted to Vice President-Cement Production. J. Lynn was a member of the acquisition team for Riverside Cement and in 1998 he assumed responsibility for all cement manufacturing in Texas and California. He was a part of the Midlothian Cement expansion project team and in August 2002, was promoted to Vice President-Cement. In this position, Mr. Davis is responsible for all cement sales and manufacturing facilities, primarily in Texas and California.
TXI is a member of the Portland Cement Association and J. Lynn serves on the Manufacturing Technical Committee. Mr. Davis received an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Sharon M. Ellis
Treasurer

Ms. Ellis joined TXI in 2008 and was appointed Treasurer that same year. She has an extensive background in corporate finance including her most recent position as Chief Financial Officer for the Container Store.
Sharon earned a Master of Business Administration from the American Graduate School of International Management ("Thunderbird") and a Bachelors degree in Finance from Texas Tech University. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors for the Baylor Health Care System Foundation and is a member of the Junior League of Dallas.

George E. Eure
Vice President, Engineering

Mr. Eure was previously Vice President of Expanded Shale and Clay for TXI since May, 2000 and was Vice President Expanded Shale and Clay Production from 1998 to 2000. With over 30 years in the lightweight aggregate industry, Mr. Eure came to TXI in 1996 from the Solite Corp. where he was Vice President of Operations.
He is active in the Expanded Shale, Clay and Slate Institute and currently holds the position of 1st Vice Chairman.

E. Leo Faciane
Vice President, Environmental Services

Leo joined TXI in 1971 as an Engineer and throughout his career with the Company has served in various positions in the Engineering and Environmental departments. Mr. Faciane has been in his current position since 1990.
Leo is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Louisiana.

Philip L. Gaynor
Vice President, Cement Manufacturing

Mr. Gaynor began his career in Cement manufacturing in1976. Since that time he has held various positions in Production Operations, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, and Management Information Systems. Since joining TXI in 1999, Phil has served as Human Resource Manager - Western Region, Manufacturing Manager - Western Region, and his current position as Vice President - Cement Manufacturing. In this capacity, he is responsible for all cement manufacturing for TXI.
Mr. Gaynor holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas Christian University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Wesleyan University. He served four years in the United States Air Force.

D. Randall (Randy) Jones
Vice President, Communications and Government Affairs

Since 1999, Mr. Jones has been Vice President Corporate Communications and Government Affairs. Randy joined TXI in 1969 as the Production Manager for the South Texas Region. Throughout his thirty-five year career with the Company, Randy has served in key positions both in operations and administration in Louisiana and Texas. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Management.
Randy is currently serving as Chairman of the Environmental Committee for the Texas Association of Business (TAB) and Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association (TACA). Additionally, Mr. Jones maintains professional and industry affiliations with the Environmental and Energy Committee of the American Portland Cement Alliance (APCA) and the Cement Kiln Recycling Coalition (CKRC), where he served as Vice Chairman for one year and Chairman for two years.

J. Michael (Mickey) Link
Vice President, Controller, Cement, Aggregate and Concrete

James Michael (Mickey) Link is Vice President/Controller for the Cement, Aggregate and Concrete segment, a position he has held since July 1998. A native of Hannibal, Missouri, Mickey received a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Missouri. He began his career with TXI in October 1972 as Staff Accountant and has held various positions in the budgeting and accounting areas.
Mickey currently is a Director of the Financial and Executive Administrative Committee of Portland Cement Association (PCA) and, in 2003, was elected to serve as Chairman of the TXI Employees Credit Union. Additionally, he volunteers with the Metrocrest Medical Foundation.

Stephen D. Mayfield
Vice President, Aggregates

Mr. Mayfield began his career with TXI in 1984 as a Cement and Aggregate Sales Representative in East Texas. Holding various positions in the Cement, Aggregate and Concrete segment (CAC), Steve was promoted to Unit Vice President of TXI in 1996 and to his current position as Vice President Aggregates in 2000. A native of Wills Point, Texas, Steve attended the University of North Texas where he received his degree in Business Administration/Marketing in 1982.
Steve was appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association in January 2004. He has maintained membership with the Texas Aggregate and Concrete Association (TACA) while serving on its board from 2001-2004 and on the Executive Committee of the Board from 2003 until 2004. Additionally, Steve was a member of Cement, Concrete Promotional Council Board (CCPC) from 1996-1999 was President of the Board in 1999.

Michael E. Perkins
Vice President, Packaged Products

Mr. Perkins began his career at TXI in 1972 with the Corpus Christi Pipe and Block Plant as Assistant to the General Manager. Mike spent the next several years with the Company in South Texas operations throughout the Houston and Austin markets. In 1989, Mike relocated to North Texas as General Manager for the ready-mix operations and in 1996 became Vice President for the group. Mr. Perkins is currently Vice President of Concrete for Texas and Louisiana operations, a position he has held since 2001.
Mike has been a member of NRMCA board since 1999 and served as chairman of TACA Promotions and Marketing Committee in 2001.

Ronnie A. Pruitt
Vice President, Aggregate and Cement Marketing and Sales

Ronnie Pruitt has been Vice President-Cement & Aggregates Marketing and Sales since August 2002. He joined TXI in 1995 and has held various positions in our cement, aggregates and concrete operations since then, including Sales Manager for North Texas and General Sales Manager for the Central Region.

J. Barrett Reese
Vice President, Marketing -Cement, Aggregate and Concrete

Mr. Reese joined TXI in 1967, as a Sales Representative with TXI's United Cement Company in Mississippi, and has held various management positions throughout TXI within the cement, aggregate and concrete operations. Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Barrett attended Mississippi State University and received his degree in Business in 1965.
Barrett is Chairman of the Texas Aggregate and Concrete Association's Promotion and Marketing Committee, Co-Chairman of the South Central Region Concrete Promotion Council, member of the Portland Cement Association's Public Works, Paving and Residential Committees, the American Concrete Paving Association's Streets and Local Roads Promotion Committee; a Director of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, Coppell, Texas, and a past President of Expanded Shale, Clay and Slate Institute.

James B. (Jamie) Rogers
Vice President, Consumer Products

Mr. Rogers is the Vice President-Consumer Products for TXI. Jamieis responsible for TXI's Ready-Mix Concrete Operations as well as the Packaged Products division. He began his career with TXI in 1996 as General Sales and Marketing Manager.
Jamie serves on the board of directors for the National Ready-Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA) as well as the Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association (TACA).

Wesley E. (Wes) Schlenker
Assistant Secretary

Mr. Schlenker holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a Juris Doctor with honors from The University of Texas School of Law, where he was a member of the Texas Law Review from 1989 to 1991. Wes practiced as an attorney in the corporate and securities section of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld from 1991 to 1994 in Dallas, Texas, Brussels, Belgium and London, England. From 1994 to 1999 he served as Secretary and General Counsel to HighwayMaster Corporation, a telecommunications startup company, during its initial public offering and following.
Prior to law school, Wes worked as a Systems Engineer for Electronic Data Systems and GM/Saturn Information Systems, from 1984 to 1988. Mr. Schlenker currently serves on the board of Kessler Community Church in Dallas, Texas.

T. Lesley Vines
Vice President-Corporate Controller

Les began his career with TXI in 1995 and was promoted to his current position in 2004. Prior to joining TXI, he spent nine years with a "Big Four" accounting firm.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Les earned a BBA in Accounting from Hardin Simmons University and a Masters in Taxation from Baylor University.
